Can I use your customization service to modify my plans to meet local building code requirements?
Yes. We recommend that you use our services to upgrade your plans so that they meet your local regulations. Ask your building inspector for a list of items that must be completed, added, or modified.
What modifications can I make through customization service?
Our customization service is extremely flexible. You can make almost any kind of change that you need, given that the requirement is feasible without compromising the safety of the structure.
How the total area is calculated?
The total square foot area includes the area of the house, in addition of the garage if it's separated from house. The garden is calculated as 1:3 ratio For instance: 1000 sqft + 1: 3 * 500 sqft = 1167 sqft
Do the plans meet my local codes?
At the time the drawings are prepared, the mep plans conform to most national building codes. However, they may not comply completely with your local building regulations. Some counties and municipalities have their own building codes, regulations and requirements. The assistance of a local mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, architect or other building professional may be necessary to modify the drawings to comply with your area's specific requirements. We recommend you consult with your local building officials prior to purchasing the blueprints or beginning construction.
How can I get them stamped/sealed?
Contact your local building department to find out if a stamp or seal is needed for your county and/or state. Some areas only require an Architectural seal while other may require an Engineered set of plans. Based on what is necessary in your area, your local building department should be able to direct you to a local architect or engineer who is able to stamp and/or seal the plans for you for your particular area.
What is included with the blueprints?
Most of our home plans offer the following: AutoCAD file, or Revit file, and/or PDF file and/or JPEG files, including the Electrical plans such as lighting, power, DATA, earth system, lightning system, low voltage plans as CCTV, sound system, fire alarm system, intrusion system, video phone. All depends on what you ask for. In addition, of the Mechanical plans such as plumbing (drainage, water supply), heating (floor heating, radiators), air conditioning, fire fighting. Beside plans, you will receive an excel sheet including the BOQ (Bill of Quantity) with all the parts and quantity needed in your house. For both of these services please refer to a local licensed plumber and electrician so that these services meet local code requirements.
Are the blueprints stamped/sealed by engineers?
No, the blueprints are not stamped or sealed by an engineer.
What do I get a customizable MEP plan?
To get your customizable MEP plans, you should contact us via email, and send us your Civil and architecture plans as AutoCAD File (.dwg) or Revit file. We receive the plans and within 24-48 business hours you will be provided with a quote to customize you plan. You can use our cost calculator to find out your estimated cost for your plans.
Can I modify my customized MEP plans?
You can request a modification. Contact us and within 24-48 business hours you will be provided with a quote to modify your plan. A nominal processing fee and/or additional set fee may be required. For more information visit the pricing page.
How long will it take for me to receive my plans once I order them?
Standard delivery is 10-15 business days per floor.
I want to make MEP plans for my home, but where do I start?
Contacting a building or design professional (builder, contractor, real estate agent, etc.) is a good place to start. You can also do research information on general construction at bookstores, home improvement stores and on the Internet. After designing your house and receiving your civil & architect AutoCAD files you contact us to make you MEP plans.
What is your return policy?
Since plans and cost to build estimates ordered from Themetaplans.com are sent to you by email in response to your order, we cannot honor requests for refunds. It is the plan purchaser's responsibility to verify all lot conditions, measurements, and code requirements prior to ordering and contracting. After you pay your full price, we DO NOT accept a refund.
Can I return the plans if I change my mind?
No. Since plans and cost to build estimates ordered from Themetaplans.com are printed in response to your order, we cannot honor requests for refunds. It is the plan purchaser's responsibility to verify all lot conditions, measurements, and code requirements prior to ordering and building.
Is a material list available?
No we do not provide a material list since it vary from state or country to another.
Do I need a material list to build the MEP systems?
It is not necessary to purchase the material list to build your MEP plans. However, each list gives you the quantity, dimensions and description of building materials needed to construct your MEP plans so you will get faster and more accurate bids from your contractor and material suppliers.
Can we build the MEP plans more than once?
You, as the original purchaser of plans, are licensed to build a single time from the MEP plans. Building for another house the same MEP plans is NOT required because of the variability of houses and everyone has its own load calculation and, Equipment’s characteristics. If you want to Multiple Houses you need to purchase multiple MEP plans. For More Information, Check our subscription plans in the pricing page.
How do I receive my plans?
You receive you plans by email with a link to download your AutoCAD file, and/or Revit file, PDF file and JPEG files.
What is BIM?
BIM is Building Information Modeling. It is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals the insight and tools to efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure.
What is BIM used for?
BIM is used for creating and managing data during the design, construction, and operations process. BIM integrates multi-disciplinary data to create detailed digital representations that are managed in an open cloud platform for real-time collaboration. Using BIM gives you greater visibility, better decision-making, more sustainable options, and cost-savings on AEC projects.
What is CAD?
CAD is Computer-Aided Design. CAD software provides technology for architects, engineers, and construction professionals to design and create precise 2D and 3D drawings, replacing manual drafting with an automated process.
What is CAD software
CAD, or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), is technology for design and technical documentation, which replaces manual drafting with an automated process. If you’re a designer, drafter, architect, or engineer, you’ve probably used 2D or 3D CAD programs such as AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT software. These widely used software programs can help you draft construction documentation, explore design ideas, visualize concepts through photorealistic renderings, and simulate how a design performs in the real world.
What's the difference between Revit and AutoCAD?
The biggest difference is that AutoCAD is a CAD software and Revit is software for BIM. While AutoCAD is a general drawing tool with broad application, Revit is a design and documentation solution, supporting all phases and disciplines involved in a building project. Revit is used to coordinate all data inputs (including CAD) and produce federated project deliverables. Both programs are often used within the same firm, with BIM and CAD specialists working on different elements of a project.
Are BIM and Revit the same?
BIM is a shared knowledge resource for information on a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its lifecycle. The role of BIM is to gather and link data relating to the design, construction, and operation of a building to produce a comprehensive 3D model. Revit is BIM software widely used by architects, engineers, and contractors to create a unified model that all disciplines and trades can use to complete their work. Autodesk Revit was created to support BIM and not to replace BIM. Revit hosts the information that forms the model from which drawings and documents are derived.
Can AutoCAD and Revit be used together?
AutoCAD and Revit are interoperable and can be used together. They are commonly used together to incorporate designs created in AutoCAD within a Revit project. Firms may use AutoCAD on certain projects or components of a design and use Revit to generate BIM deliverables and to enable collaboration with other design disciplines. Get access to Revit and AutoCAD in a specialized solution with the Architecture, Engineering, & Construction Collection.
What countries’ regulations do we follow?
We can design MEP plans that can be implemented in KSA, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrein, Oman, Lebanon, USA, and CANADA. Any updates in the future will be considered. Contact us for more information.
How long it would take to design a plan?
In a common situation or small buildings, every floor will take between 7 to 10 days 30% faster than others. Any larger building will be informed later. Contact us for more information.
What is a PDF file?
This includes the complete construction drawings in digital PDF format that will be emailed. This file cannot be modified. It does allow the customer to print as many copies as needed for a single construction of the home. Printed copies can usually be made at a local copy or print center such as FedEx or Staples.
