Sometimes there is no real distinction between them. Outside walls can be depicted by a black outline or two lines in place of a single, solid line.
 

2.6 Door & Window Symbols 

 

With a curved line indicating which way the door will swing and providing clearance, doors resemble bigger spaces between walls. They may show up differently on floor plans depending on their design and purpose.
